Sultry: Nadine Coyle poses provocatively in the artwork for new single Insatiable

Nadine Coyle has got some tough competition as she prepares to release her debut solo single.

With Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole having proved a huge hit with her own solo career, the pressure is on Nadine to follow in Ms Cole's multi-talented footsteps.

But the 25-year-old singer is determined to give it her best shot, and has released artwork for her new single Insatiable which shows her posing provocatively.

In the photograph, Nadine is seen looking sultry as she stares into the camera - wearing only a tight red skirt and a sheepskin jacket.

Nadine is preparing to release her debut single Insatiable on November 1st, with the album of the same name following on November 8th.

Talking about the upcoming track, which was co-written with legendary songwriter Guy Chambers, Nadine said she knew it was going to be a hit as soon as they finished it, because it was so catchy.

Bandmates: It is unclear whether Nadine will be returning to Girls Aloud

She said: 'I’m a pop artist, and that’s what pop songs should do at their best. I just knew we had something special when we wrote that song.'

And Nadine thinks the album, which features 13 songs all written or co-written by her, is her best work to date, adding: 'It had to be right.

'It had to be my sound and my songs. Insatiable feels like that.'

But creating the album and single was a long and difficult process for Nadine, who eventually decided to set up her own record label Black Pen Records so she could take complete control.

Explaining the decision, Nadine said: 'So much has changed in the way artists work now. I think we have learned that the traditional model for selling an album isn’t the only way of doing things.

'To be able to create an album where you are in complete control of your own work is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an artist.’

Competition: Nadine's Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole has proved a huge success with her solo career

Nadine also revealed this morning that she will be performing the single, and some other tracks from the album, at London's G-A-Y on Saturday 30th October.

She wrote on Twitter this morning: 'Soooo excited to be performing new songs for the first time at G-A-Y... Halloween weekend it's going to be madness.. see you there! woohoo.'

The album and single release will mark a return to the music industry for Nadine, who has been in America since Girls Aloud announced in April 2009 they would be taking a break.

And while Sarah Harding has been concentrating on her acting career with a role in St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold, Nicola Roberts has released a make-up range while Kimberley Walsh is presenting a new TV show called Suck My Pop.

But it's Cheryl who has arguably proved the most successful, with numerous hit singles including Fight For This Love and Parachutes as well as a hugely popular debut album under her belt.

With plans to record a new album at the end of the year, Girls Aloud fans are getting ready to welcome their favourite group back to the music circuit.

Excited: Nadine, pictured in London last month, is excited about the release

However, in a recent interview, Nicola neatly avoided a question on the rumours that Nadine will not be joining the girls upon their return.

She said: 'I think it’s just one of those things as a band we’ve just always kind of had from day one, but at the moment it seems to be very prominent.

'We were in the band for day and had a press conference and they were already asking "When’s Nadine leaving the band?" It’s kind of just one of those things that’s part and parcel of the whole job.'
