But it looked as if contestant Casey Abrams' dream might be over before it began when he was hospitalised on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, Casey was taken for medical treatment after complaining of severe stomach pains.

However, the wannabe star was today released from hospital and was expected to take to the stage today to tape his slot in the final 12 men's performances, People have reported.

'He is performing tonight,' a source told the website. 'He had some stomach pains but he will perform.'
