Red flag: Lady Gaga performs at the Cannes Film Festival today for the French chatshow Le Grand Journal

She may be in France for the Cannes Film Festival.

But Lady Gaga opted for a decidedly Spanish theme as performed on French television show Le Grand Journal today in a matador-style ensemble.

The 25-year-old singer was clad in an intricate black and gold outfit, which was sheer from the stomach down.

Fancy footwork: The singer wore a Spanish matador-inspired outfit as she sang her hit tracks before her dedicated fans

She finished off the look with a bright red cape, reminiscent of matador's flag, which was attached to her hair and fastened around her arms.

Earlier she went to a soundcheck, wandering around the stage in black lingerie, tights and studded leather boots.

Gaga had done away with her fox-inspired hairdo, which she was sporting yesterday, and instead was wearing a Cruella De Vil-esque platinum blonde wig with a black fringe.

Revealing outfit: She was joined by an army of scantily-clad backing dancers

The New York-born star is currently promoting her second album, Born This Way, which is set for release later this month.

Next stop on the tour is London, where she is set to perform a secret show this week, ahead of her show at Radio One's Big Weekend in Carlisle on Sunday.

The Born This Way singer has certainly been jetting around of late.

At the weekend, she played the Robin Hood Foundation Annual Gala in New York, just days after performing in Mexico City and jetting to Los Angeles to mentor young hopefuls on American Idol.

Her new album Born This Way is due out on May 23.
