KIA Lining Up In GA To Meet Sorento’s Demand
KIA has a fantastic year of 2012 when this Korean automaker has succeed to increase their sales by 19 percent compared to the previous year of 2009, boosting up their market share from 2.9 to 3.1 percent. The major reason why KIA has a pretty successful year of 2012 was the success of the KIA Sorento which managed to 109,000 unit sales last year.
The news from a page on Automotive News said that KIA will looking for the opportunity to increase the total in 2011, by adding the third shift to the West Point of the company, Georgia plant. KIA think that the stronger sales of Sorento are ineveitable with the fact that the U.S. auto market is growing pretty well. Another fact is that the dealers have reportedly asking for more units of Sorento for months now, and the increasing production becomes a must for KIA.
However, KIA hasn’t announced yet about the start date of the plant’s third shift, but the dealers told the Automotive News that the additional Sorento CUVs will begin hitting the retail stores in some coming months. But in the meantime, KIA will looking for some additional workers in Georgia.

The General Motors W-Body platform has been welcomed pretty well in its tenure on the marketplace since around 1988. After releasing a lot of GM sedans for over the years, there is only one W-body which is continues to solider on, it is the Chevrolet Impala. For the fans of Impala, there is a good news. The car is getting a new high tech engine for 2012.
According to some sources including from the dealerships, 2012 Chevrolet Impala will only have one engine and transmission option. This option will be GM’s 3.6 liter V-6 engine which is mated to the six speed automatic transmission. They are saying that the 3.6 liter engine is listed as the LFX, the new variant of the 3.6 liter which is making its way to some of the 2012 GM products.
Once their production of Buick Lucerne ends later this year, this Impala will be the only product from GM which has the 3.5 liter and 3.9 liter high value overhead valve V-6 engines. GM might seeing a cost advantage by reducing the production of those two engines for changing the powertrain for Impala. There are some conflicting reports about the 2012 Impala, but the latest word said that there wiill be no significant changes which will be made to the 2012 model.

2012 Buick Regal eAssist With 26/37 mpg
When General Motors debuted their new 2012 Buick LaCrosse alongside with the eAssist technology at Los Angeles Auto Show, they have told us that their new fuel saving feature will quickly spread on the other models in their portfolio. And now, GM has unveil their another vehicle with eAssist technology, the 2012 Buick Regal, which makes the official debut at this week’s Chicago Auto Show.
The addition of the eAssist technology to the Regal’s 2.4 liter inline four powertrain will make the sedan capable to achieve 26 miles per gallon in the city and up to 37 mpg on the highway. Like the previous LaCrosse vhicle, this Regal eAssist will has a small 15 horsepower electric motor to help you out during the acceleration, combined with the regenerative braking and automatic start/stop.
Actually, this is not as impressive as Ford Fusion Hybrid, but it is still quite good if you remember that the standard Regal only has 19.30 mpg ratings. Unlike the LaCrosse, eAssist will not be the main engine for 2012 Regals. Buick has put this car to be the part of a larger family which includes Regal Turbo and the upcoming GS. Some changes on this Regal will include things like the lightweight 17 inch alloy wheels which is smaller than 18 inch for the standard set.

Is It Audi RS7?
Generally, the spy shots about the new Audi’s RS series will involving large wheels, huge fender flares, and some low profile tires. But as you see in the picture above, this potential prototype for the Audi RS7 Sportback vehicle appears to be going incognito under the standard A7 skin.
Will this A7 is more than meets the eye? The other spy photographers said specifically in the brakes, they have seen the prototypes of the standard S7 Sportback vehicle for a couple of time, and there is none of the cars that fitted with this large brakes. However, the quad exhaust pipes on the back seems similar to what is used on Audi’s S models. On the other hand, there is some rumors said that when it hits the production, this RS7 will have a large dual exhaust.
For the things under the hood, the latest speculation said that the twin turbocharged will use 4.0 liter V8 engine which is able to produce around 550 to 600 horsepower. The power will be managed with the seven speed dual clutch gearbox and will send it to all the four wheels via Quattro all wheel drive. McLaren Unveil MP4-26 In Berlin
While the other Formula 1 teams unveiled their 2011 challenger cars at or before the test session at Valencia, McLaren choose to run their 2010 F1 car instead. Why? I think that they want to focur on the varied effects of the new Pirelli tires. But this week in Berlin, this British Formula 1 team has joined the field and unveil their new racer, the MP4-26, as well as revealing some innovative and radical design elements.
In Berlin, this team rolled it out in pieces, and put it together in front of the gathering crowd.McLaren used a plastic engine and exhaust system to not revealing all their secrets. All we know is that MP4-26 car features a longer wheelbase than the usual, the odd U shaped sidepods, and a higher nosecone than the rivals. The sidepods is designed to channel the cleaner air to the new rear wing to gain the downforce lost from the regulatory elimination on the double diffuser.
MP4-26 is also the first Formula 1 car from McLaren which is designed to accomodate the taller frame of Jenson Button. McLaren still keep their secret on the rest of their design, and only releasing some handful images about it (the picture above is one of them). Will it bring a new title to them? Let’s just wait and see.
