Street Striker: Wayne Rooney appeared fit and well on set for his new TV show
Wayne Rooney did not look like a player nursing himself back from a troublesome ankle injury on Thursday.
These pictures of the Manchester United striker shooting a new series of Street Striker appear to support Rooney’s claim that he is fit — contradicting manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s assertion that his player was left out of the last two games because of an injury at Bolton last month.
It remains to be seen whether Rooney will play on Saturday at home to West Brom.
The plot thickened on Thursday as England physio Gary Lewin insisted there were no issues over the player’s fitness leading up to the Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro this week.
Lewin said: ‘He trained every day and was fit for the game.’
